Map Server
Product Overview
XeDAR's Studio Map Server application makes reviewing federal land records and other data and creating maps and map reports a quick and easy process. It is available to anyone with internet access. Reports can be generated and map data can also be downloaded for further analysis. The HardCopy Mapping component takes the application to a higher plane of usability by printing presentation-quality hardcopy maps!
Map Browsing
Start by choosing a state map then pan and zoom to your area of interest or select specific townships and ranges and watch the level of detail of the map data automatically change. You also control which specific layers are visible on the map with simple on/off clicks. The extensive types of layers include oil & gas leases and units, coal leases and mines, Wilderness Study Areas, wells and much more. Once created, map views can be saved for later recall.
Map Reporting
This feature allows you to quickly and easily select specific items from an active layer displayed on your map and then request Studio reports and exports for those selected items. For example, select desired oil & gas leases and create serial register pages.
Download Map Shape Files
After creating a map with the browser features, technical users can obtain the layers used to produce the map as downloads in ESRI Shapefile format. These downloaded files can then be imported into other mapping packages for further analysis.
HardCopy Mapping
This feature allows you to build and print a high quality hardcopy map from a list of available maps. A wizard-style tool prompts you through the process without the need for in depth map development or technical expertise.
For most maps, up to four townships can be selected. Maps can also be created in your choice of projection. A PDF file is generated via the HardCopy Mapping process. This file can then be downloaded from the site and used to plot a presentation quality map (typical size is "E" size 44" x 34"). Don't have access to an appropriate printer or plotter? XeDAR can plot and ship the map for a nominal fee.
